How do today’s striving nonprofits tell their story? Reach new supporters? Increase our impact? Constrained by tight budgets, organizations today must find effective ways to address these concerns. Add the challenges of a fiercely competitive, crowded market and the task can seem daunting. Hear from a frontline nonprofit fundraising pro and a media expert on how they harnessed the power of integrated multi-channel fundraising to reach new audiences, acquired new donors and maximized impact in the most ethnically diverse city in the Western Hemisphere.

Intended Audience:  Senior Marketers, Direct Response Fundraisers. Development Directors

Learning Outcomes (session objectives): 
At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

1. Understand how to prioritize campaign objectives and allocate budget across multiple marketing channels for optimum results

2.  Be equipped to make the case to boards and decision-makers about the value of integrated multi-channel marketing

3. Know how to evaluate the success of a complex campaign using integrated response metrics.  It can be tricky!

Presenter

Major John Murray, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development, The Salvation Army Canada, Ontario Central East Division

John and his wife Brenda have been Salvation Army for the past 13 years - they were Corps Officer pastors in Sydney, Nova Scotia prior to being appointed to Divisional Headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia for 9 years.  John & Brenda and their family were transferred to Toronto in July 2007. 

As Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development, John is responsible for the public, media and government relations work of The Salvation Army as well as fundraising for Toronto and the National Capital Region.  Brenda is The Salvation Army's Ontario Government Relations Liaison Officer, working with elected representatives at Queen's Park

John & Brenda have an interest in missions work and as such have had the privilege to travel to Africa, Pakistan, Cuba and Mexico in an effort to assist The Salvation Army’s ministry in those countries.  John & Brenda have 4 sons, Zachary, Liam, Kieran and Nathan who range in age from 14 - 21.  They also have a golden retriever named "Tucker."

When not working, John enjoys live theatre, movies, reading, baseball and golf.

Co-presenter:  Madlen Satamian, Vice President and Senior Strategist, Media, Grizzard Communications Group

Madlen Satamian is the Vice President of Integrated Media and a Senior Strategist at Grizzard Communications Group, Inc. She is a direct mail veteran who brings over 20 years of experience from different industries such as nonprofit, retail, catalogs and publications, and she has expertise as list manager as well as list broker.

Madlen oversees all media planning and buying for Grizzard. She coordinates list activity for direct mail, print advertising in newspapers and magazines, radio and television broadcasts, outdoor advertising, free-standing inserts and co-op mail.

Madlen has worked with many of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations, consistently producing results enhancement and greater efficiency. She has received industry recognition throughout her career for excellence, including work on two DMA Echo award-winning campaigns for The Salvation Army. Madlen holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics from Hunter College.

If you cannot attend a webinar for which you are registered, please send a substitute. Substitutions are allowed
at any time.
 
If you must cancel your registration altogether, please refer to the Cancellation Refund Schedule below. Registrants
who do not cancel and fail to attend the event, forfeit their full registration fee in its entirety.
 
If DMA cancels the event for which you have registered, the registration fee paid will be held on account for a future
event or fully refunded if you prefer. DMA is not responsible for any expenses incurred by you as a result of your
registration, whether the event was attended, postponed, orcanceled.
